Welcome to Candlewood Fencing. By enrolling in any program, purchasing a membership, attending a class, camp, clinic, or event, or using our website at candlewoodfencing.com, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all locations including our Norwalk (2 Broad Street, Rear, Norwalk, CT 06851) and Newtown (31 Pecks Lane, Unit 7, Newtown, CT 06470) facilities.
1. Eligibility & Enrollment
Participation in Candlewood Fencing programs is open to individuals of all skill levels unless otherwise specified. Enrollment is complete only upon receipt of a completed registration form and applicable payment.
- Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete all required waivers and consent forms prior to participation.
- Candlewood Fencing reserves the right to refuse or terminate enrollment at its sole discretion.
- First-time participants taking advantage of a free trial class must register in advance via our website.
2. Membership & Fees
All membership plans, class packages, and drop-in rates are listed on our Pricing page. By purchasing a membership or package, you agree to the following:
- Recurring memberships are billed on a monthly or annual basis as specified at the time of purchase and renew automatically unless cancelled.
- Membership fees are non-transferable and apply only to the enrolled member.
- Candlewood Fencing reserves the right to adjust pricing with at least 30 days’ written notice to active members.
- Camp, clinic, and event registrations are governed by the fees and terms presented at the time of booking.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
All sales are generally final. Please review our cancellation windows carefully before purchasing.
Memberships: You may cancel your recurring membership by providing written notice at least 15 days before your next billing date. No pro-rated refunds are issued for partial months.
Class Packages: Unused classes are non-refundable but may be transferred to another enrolled member of the same household with prior approval.
Camps & Clinics: Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event are eligible for a full refund or credit. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. If Candlewood Fencing cancels an event, a full refund or credit will be issued.
No-shows: Missed classes without prior notice are forfeited and non-refundable.
4. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to:
- Treat coaches, staff, and fellow students with courtesy and respect.
- Follow all instructions given by coaches and staff at all times.
- Refrain from unsafe behavior, horseplay, or misuse of equipment.
- Arrive on time and be prepared for class.
Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from programs without refund.
5. Liability Waiver & Risk Acknowledgment
Fencing is a physical sport that carries an inherent risk of injury. By participating in any Candlewood Fencing program, you acknowledge and accept these risks. You agree to release and hold harmless Candlewood Fencing, its owners, coaches, employees, and agents from any claims arising from participation, including personal injury, illness, or property damage.
A separate Membership Agreement / Liability Waiver must be signed by all participants (or their parent/guardian if under 18) prior to first participation.
6. Health & Safety
- Participants are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect safe participation.
- We reserve the right to require medical clearance before allowing participation if a health concern is identified.
- In the event of a medical emergency, staff will contact emergency services. Participants consent to emergency medical treatment at their own expense.
- Participants who are visibly ill are asked not to attend class out of respect for other members and staff.
7. Equipment & Property
- Loaner equipment may be available for beginner students. Participants are responsible for any damage caused through misuse or negligence.
- Personal fencing equipment must meet USA Fencing safety standards.
- Candlewood Fencing is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
8. Photography & Media Release
Photos and videos may be taken during classes and events for use in marketing materials and social media. By enrolling, you grant Candlewood Fencing permission to use your likeness (or your minor child’s likeness) for these purposes without compensation. To opt out, please notify us in writing at the time of enrollment.
9. Privacy Policy
We collect personal information solely for enrollment, communication, and payment processing. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Payment processing is handled by secure third-party providers. You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
10. Website Use
All content on candlewoodfencing.com is the property of Candlewood Fencing and may not be reproduced without written permission. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any linked third-party websites.
11. Changes to Terms
Candlewood Fencing reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued participation following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
